The annual Solomons Dragon Boat Festival is a fun, family-oriented event featuring over 20 teams of paddlers competing for glory on the Patuxent River.

We participated in the Solomons Dragon Boat Festival for the first time in 2022. And we received a medal for the best out-of-town team in recognition of our strong showing throughout the day — starting with our 59.6-second race during the morning trial, the day’s third-fastest time.

This year, we’ll enjoy another full day of dragon boat races — complete with a parade of teams, entertainment, caricature artists, children’s activities, vendor village, and awards ceremony.

The event raises funds for Southern Maryland Community Resources, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that helps to bridge the gap for individuals with developmental differences in our local community.
