The annual Solomons Dragon Boat Festival is a fun, family-oriented event featuring over 20 teams of paddlers competing on the Patuxent River adjacent to the Solomons Island waterfront.

The event raises funds for Southern Maryland Community Resources, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that helps to bridge the gap for individuals with developmental differences in our local community.

In 2023, we entered two teams for the race — a breast cancer survivors team and a mixed community division team.  The BCS Division was new for the Solomons event in 2023. We will once again have two teams in the race this year. Additionally, last year, we held a well-attended team dinner at the Bugeye Grill the night before the race, something we hope to recreate this year.

Remember that membership dues must be current, and there is a $25 for the race.
