The City of Annapolis City Council held a special meeting on May 23, 2022.

During the meeting, Mayor Buckley invited Alderwoman Pindell Charles to present a citation to the Annapolis Dragon Boat. Watch the 4-minute video below to see the team receive the citation (from minute 19:15 to 23:20).

On behalf of the City of Annapolis residents, the City Council Citation recognized our work to promote and develop the sport of dragon boating in Annapolis.

Over the past 12 years, the Annapolis Dragon Boat Club has promoted the development of healthy bodies and spirits, supported recovery from breast cancer and all other cancers — in both men and women – and facilitated the growth of true friendships and teamwork. Annapolis is a happier, healthier, and more connected community because of your efforts to promote and develop the sport of dragon boating as a way to build strength, endurance, and confidence – all with an emphasis on recreation, synchrony, and harmony while on the waters of our beautiful Spa Creek.

The Council thanked us for our contribution to the life of the community, for enhancing and growing a connection to the water, for our invaluable support for cancer survivors, and for giving everyone joy and pleasure every season.

They also congratulated us on our success and expressed their deepest gratitude and appreciation.
