Proclamation

WHEREAS, it is with heavy hearts that we remember and honor the life of our cherished member, Susannah Plews;
WHEREAS, Susannah exemplified courage, resilience, and unwavering strength after being diagnosed with breast cancer;
WHEREAS, Susannah was a committed paddler and beloved member of the book club;
WHEREAS, her passion for literature and infectious spirit left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of fellow book club members — fostering the joy of storytelling, intellectual exchange, and a good book; and
WHEREAS, in tribute to Susannah’s enduring legacy and her significant contributions, we desire to rename the book club in Susannah’s honor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED that we, the Annapolis Dragon Boat Club, do hereby memorialize Susannah for her bravery, her tenacity in the face of adversity, and her positive impact on our community; and
BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the Annapolis Dragon Boat Book Club shall henceforth be known as “Susannah’s Book Club” in tribute to the memory of Susannah, a beacon of strength, compassion, and literary passion.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, we, the undersigned members of the Board of Directors of the Annapolis Dragon Boat Club, do hereby set our hands and affix the club seal on this day, the 1st of August, in the year 2024.
